Samsung Pushes One UI 8 to Galaxy S24 Lineup, Beats Its Own Timeline

It’s the Samsung Galaxy S24 series’ turn to get the Android 16-based One UI 8 update. That update has started to roll out early, following Galaxy S25 series, Galaxy Z Fold 6, and Galaxy Z Flip 6 updates.

Samsung is rolling out Android 16-based One UI 8 update to the Galaxy S24 series

The update for the Samsung Galaxy S24, Galaxy S24+, and Galaxy S24 Ultra has started to roll out in Korea, Samsung’s homeland. The firmware version in question is S92xNKSU4CYI7.

Now, this update is rolling out in Korea, but it also means it’s coming to many other markets soon. It usually takes Samsung only days to start rolling out such updates in a number of markets, sometimes not even that much. So the update could already be rolling out in your region by the time you’re reading this.

This update will be quite hefty once you get it, several gigabytes, most likely. It is also bringing the September 2025 Android security update with it, in case you were wondering. So you’ll be completely up to date.

One UI 8 brings a number of upgraded UI elements over One UI 7, while it also delivers features that improve camera performance, communication, health tracking, productivity, privacy, and multitasking. Google’s own Android 16 changes are included, by the way.

This update is coming in earlier than expected

We reported earlier today that the Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Galaxy Z Flip 6 are getting the update early, and the same has just happened with the Galaxy S24 series. Samsung scheduled all five of those devices to start getting the update next month, not in September. The company did exceed expectations, though.

Once the update gets to your device, your phone will let you know. You can try to speed things up by checking manually through the settings, but that won’t force the update. It is rolling out in stages, so you’ll have to be patient.
