Samsung Pushes Out One UI 8 for Galaxy Z Fold 6 & Flip 6 — Ahead of Schedule

The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Galaxy Z Flip 6 are now getting the One UI 8 update based on Android 16. The update started to roll out in Korea, Samsung’s homeland, but it’ll quickly spread to other markets, if it hasn’t already.

The Galaxy Z Fold 6 & Flip 6 are now getting the Android 16 update

Samsung usually starts rolling out updates in Korea, but they usually get to a ton of other markets within days. It’s possible that the update is already rolling out in your region too.

This update follows the initial One Ui 8.0 rollout, which has seen the update hit the Galaxy S25 series. The update for the Galaxy Z Flip 6 has the firmware version F741NKSU2CYI6, while the one for the Galaxy Z Fold 6 has the firmware version F956NKSU2CYI7.

The update weighs around 600MB for the One UI 8.0 Beta Program participants, while it will weigh around 4GB for everyone else. So it’ll be quite a hefty download for the vast majority of people.

This update will also bring the latest security update to both smartphones. It comes with the September 2025 Android security patch, in case you were wondering.

The update will pop up on your phone when it becomes available, though you can try speeding up the process by checking for it manually. You can do so via your phone’s settings, if you’d like.

This update comes ahead of schedule

Now, this update does come as a bit of a surprise. The company’s release schedule suggested that this update will start arriving to the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Flip 6 in October, but Samsung beat its own timeline, it seems.

That release schedule also suggested that the update for the Galaxy S24 will arrive in October. Considering that this update arrived ahead of schedule, who knows, perhaps we’ll see that one arrive before the end of this month.
