Samsung’s New Ultra-Budget Phone Is Getting 6 Years of OS Upgrades

Samsung has expanded its range of budget devices by launching the Galaxy A07 (4G). The phone comes with a slightly different design than its predecessor, the Galaxy A06 (4G) from last year. Also, the company has provided some upgrades in the display, processor, and software departments. Most of the details of the Galaxy A07 had already leaked online ahead of the official launch.

Galaxy A07 brings upgrades in display, processor, and design

Samsung has changed the Galaxy A07’s design slightly. While the new model has the same fascia with thick bezels and a notch above the display, the company has changed the rear camera module. Last year’s Galaxy A06 (4G) has two independent holes at the rear to house the main cameras; the newer model has a large vertical island that includes both the lenses.

Furthermore, Samsung has upgraded the Galaxy A07’s processor. The brand has replaced the MediaTek Helio G85 SoC on last year’s model with the newer Helio G99 processor. The screen size remains the same at 6.7 inches with HD+ resolution, but the firm has increased the refresh rate to 90Hz from 60Hz.

Samsung has also improved the longevity of the new affordable offering

Samsung’s new affordable smartphone ships with Android 15-based One UI 7 out of the box. The company has improved the phone’s longevity by promising 6 generations of OS updates and 6 years of security updates.

Moving on to the cameras, the Galaxy A07 has the same 50MP + 2MP dual camera setup at the rear. For selfies and video calling, the phone offers an 8MP shooter, just like the predecessor. In terms of connectivity, the 4G phone offers dual VoLTE, dual-band Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5.3, GPS, and a USB Type-C port. The same 5,000mAh battery with 25W fast charging support keeps the whole package running.

Coming to the pricing, Samsung has priced the base variant of the Galaxy A07 with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of storage at around $86. The brand has priced the higher 8GB+256GB configuration at approximately $141. Samsung plans to start selling the phone initially in Indonesia before shipping to any other markets.
