There’s a wide variety of Android phones on the market. Samsung certainly stands tall compared to the competition, as it has an option for everyone, including the billionaire Microsoft co-founder. Bill Gates has now confirmed that he’s been using a Samsung Galaxy foldable phone lately. Interestingly, the phone was gifted to him by Samsung Electronics Chairman Jay Y. Lee.
Bill Gates rocking a Samsung foldable
Gates revealed using a Samsung foldable during an interview with a Korean media outlet, which will air on August 27th. Meta co-founder and CEO Mark Zuckerberg previously expressed his appreciation for Galaxy devices. So Gates isn’t the only one who has a liking for Galaxy devices.
There was a range of other questions during the interview. These include his philanthropic activities and his declaration to donate virtually all his wealth to charity, through his personal wealth and donations from the Gates Foundation. The questions gradually moved towards technology, which probably includes one about his current phone.
The exact model name of the Samsung foldable isn’t clear at the moment. There’s a chance it could be either of Samsung’s latest foldables, the Galaxy Z Fold 7 or the Z Flip 7.
Gates has been using a Samsung foldable for a few years now
This isn’t the first time we’re hearing about Gates using a Samsung foldable. In fact, he has been using the Galaxy Z Fold phones for quite some time now. Back in 2022, during a Reddit AMA (ask me anything), he revealed that he was using a Galaxy Z Fold 3. Later, he had upgraded to a Galaxy Z Fold 4 in 2023, which was also gifted by Jay Y. Lee
