Samsung’s One UI 8.5 May Bring a Fully Customizable Quick Panel

Over the past few years, customization has been one of the key perks in Samsung‘s One UI. Each update brings more and more options to tweak the look of your phone to your liking. Now, a new leak suggests that the company is about to give its users a new level of control they’ve been waiting for. Samsung’s upcoming One UI 8.5 update appears to include a major overhaul of the Quick Panel, making it more customizable than ever before.

One UI 8.5 could finally let you fully customize your Quick Settings

According to X/Twitter user theonecid, the Quick Panel in One UI 8.5 will be “completely customizable.” This is a big deal because it goes beyond the simple rearranging of icons that has been available in the past. Screenshots and reports from early builds suggest that you could move, resize or remove entirely every quick setting toggle. This means you could make the Wi-Fi and mobile data icons bigger for easier access or get rid of toggles you never use, like Smart View or SmartThings.

This new level of freedom would be the most significant redesign of Samsung’s control panel in years. If true, it could bring Samsung’s software in line with what we’ve seen from competitors. Apple’s iOS 18 introduced similar customization options, for example. The change is a direct response to a common request from users who have long wanted more control over the interface.

It’s not so bad that the leaks come from early builds and Samsung could still change its plans. However, the signs are promising. The improvement could allow users to transform a potentially cluttered space into a clean, personalized one where they only see what matters to them. With the Galaxy S26 series expected to launch with One UI 8.5, fans may not have to wait too long to see if this highly requested feature becomes a reality.
