The Motorola Edge 70 design has just surfaced, and it looks different than we thought it would. Back in May, we received images that show the design of the phone, from a very credible source, but it seems like Motorola opted for a somewhat different design after all.
If you take a look at the promo image below, you’ll see the device itself. This has been shared by Evan Blass, one of the most prominent tipsters around. We’re obviously look at the official promo image of the device.

It clearly states that this is the Motorola Edge 70, and the company is using the “impossibly thin and incredibly tough” caption here. Motorola is also going with a different camera island design, and it actually seems like the display will be flat.
Its display will be flat
There will be a display camera hole at the top of the display, that much is obvious. From the angle it’s shown here, the display also seems to be flat, which is the opposite of what its predecessor delivered.
The sides of the phone will be flat, for the most part. The edges will be chamfered, for comfort’s sake. The backplate won’t be glass, as you can see. Motorola will go with a more grippy material, possibly eco leather.
The area around the camera island is once again gradually rising towards the camera module, but that camera module is now way more pronounced than before, and more pronounced than we thought it would be.
The camera island is also a bit different
You’ll notice that the panel to which the cameras are attached to is in the color of the frame, it’s not covered by the material that covers most of the phone’s back. Three cameras seems to be in included on the back of the phone, while the fourth protrusion is there for an LED flash.
You also get to see the phone’s power/lock key here, which sits below the volume rocker keys on the right side. A fourth button is located on the left-hand side of the phone. This is a green Edge 70 model, as you can see.
We’re not sure when will this phone become a reality. The Motorola Edge 60 was announced in April this year, while the Edge 50 arrived in August last year. There doesn’t seem to be a specific rule for the Edge series launches from the company.
