Oppo A6 Pro 4G with Helio G100, 7,000mAh battery launches

Oppo has announced several models in the A6 series, starting with the Oppo A6 Pro 5G and followed by the A6 GT and A6i, also with 5G. Now here comes a 4G model, the Oppo A6 Pro, which appeared in Vietnam.

Oppo A6 Pro 4G

Based on the description, this is a successor to the Oppo A5 4G, which was also known as A5i Pro and A5m, depending on the region. And with that as the previous model, the new A6 Pro looks like a major upgrade.

The phone is powered by the Helio G100, the latest (last?) 4G chipset from MediaTek. It is specced with plenty of memory – 8GB of LPDDR4X RAM and 256GB UFS 2.2 storage. The chipset also features a vapor chamber to help keep it cool.

The Oppo A6 Pro 4G is priced at VND 8,300,000 ($315/€265/₹28,000), so it’s not an entry-level phone. This is in the same ballpark as the Reno14 F, a 5G phone powered by the Snapdragon 6 Gen 1 that sells on the same store for VND 10,300,000. Note that our tipster says that the price is just a placeholder – it does seem quite high for what the phone offers.

Anyway, the A6 Pro 4G has a 6.57” OLED display with 1080p+ resolution, a massive upgrade over the 6.67” 90Hz IPS LCD with 720p+ resolution on the A5 4G. The panel is brighter too, reaching 1,400 nits maximum (up from 1,000 nits). It’s the same screen as the A6 Pro 5G, by the way.

Inside is a massive 7,000mAh battery with fast 80W charging – these are the same stats as on the 5G model. The previous 4G phone only supported 45W charging. Moving over to the back, we see quite a different design compared to the 5G model.

One 50MP camera is tucked into the top left corner. There appear to be other lenses, but it’s only a 2MP depth sensor. That 50MP camera can record 1080p videos at 60fps, by the way. The selfie camera has a 16MP sensor and can do 1080p videos at 30fps.

The Oppo A6 Pro 4G is pretty tough. It’s rated IPX6 (surviving high-pressure water jets for 3 minutes), IPX8 (submersion in 1.5m of water for 30 minutes) and IPX9 (resistance to 80°C water jets), plus an IP6X dust-tight rating. And it passed the MIL-STD-810H testing.

There are other specs worth mentioning – stereo speakers with 300% volume mode, a 360° NFC antenna, outdoor visibility mode for the display and even a sharing system compatible with AirDrop on the iPhone.

Oppo A6 Pro 4G in Lunar Titanium, Stellar Blue, Coral Pink

The Oppo A6 Pro 4G comes in Lunar Titanium, Stellar Blue, Coral Pink and Rosewood Red. Only the first three are available on FPTShop, though. There’s only one configuration available, the 8/256GB one. If we spot the 4G variant in other stores and countries, we’ll let you know.
