This Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 Flagship Will Have LEDs Around Its Camera Ring

Qualcomm is gearing up to unveil its next-gen chip, the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chip. This could bring notable improvements and performance upgrades, particularly to the gaming section. Shortly after the San Diego-based brand unveils this premium chip, a range of Android flagships will be lined up for the coming year. One of them is the iQOO 15, whose unique back panel design with LED lights has been revealed.

iQOO 15 design will include LED lights

The promotional image shared by iQOO on Weibo shows a glowing LED strip surrounding the camera ring. Prolific leaker Digital Chat Station on Weibo claims the porthole-style camera module will feature a hidden RGB light strip, catering to gamers. This should be appealing to those who are into aesthetics and wish to have a little unique design element on their phone.

The iQOO 15 camera module is quite protruding. This should make the phone wobble when placed on a flat surface. It does seem to have a boxy chassis. We also see what appears to be a hardware button on the side frame, but its use cases are not clear.

Additionally, Digital Chat Station says the iQOO 15 camera island will be thick, which is evident from the poster. This is because of the periscope telephoto sensor, which is apparently making a comeback. The iQOO flagship will feature a flat metal frame with metal edges and a flat display with round corners.

Recently, an alleged hands-on video of the iQOO 15 leaked online, showing off the unique color-changing design. Depending on the viewing angle, the phone’s back panel changes from an all-gray to a pinkish hue in just a matter of seconds.

The iQOO 15 may sport a 6.85-inch QHD+ AMOLED display from Samsung. It may offer 6,000 nits peak brightness and Dolby Vision support. The phone could house a large capacity battery, possibly between 7,000mAh and 8,000mAh, paired with 100W wired charging. There’ll also be wireless charging, but at what speed is unknown, for now.

The iQOO 15 may feature a 50MP main camera using a 1/1.5” type sensor, a 50MP telephoto lens, and an ultra-wide sensor. The exact launch date of the iQOO 15 is not out yet, but it may happen in October.
