Sony has announced its rumored mid-ranger today, the Sony Xperia 10 VII smartphone. This model, as leaks suggested, comes with a redesigned camera module and quite a few improvements over its predecessor.
The Sony Xperia 10 VII is now official, and it doesn’t have a display camera hole
As you can see in the provided images, the phone still doesn’t have a display camera hole. Sony is sticking with slightly thicker bezels above and below the display to avoid a display camera hole. The display is flat, while all the physical buttons sit on the right-hand side.
The phone has a flat frame all around, while the sides match the back of the phone perfectly. We’re not really sure what materials Sony used to build the Xperia 10 VII. We do know that the front is protected by the Gorilla Glass Victus 2, though.
There is a horizontal camera bar included on the back
On the back, you’ll see a rather compact horizontal camera bar, which hosts two cameras. That camera bar does protrude on the back. The phone’s SIM card tray can be accessed from the left side. Its power/lock key acts as a fingerprint scanner too, while a 3.5mm headphone jack is also included in the package.
The phone is IP65/IP68-rated for water and dust resistance. It is also very light at 168 grams, while it’s 8.3mm thick. Considering it has a 6.1-inch display, it’s also very compact. That is a fullHD+ OLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate, by the way.
Expandable storage is on offer
The Snapdragon 6 Gen 3 processor from Qualcomm fuels the phone. Sony opted to include 8GB of RAM here, along with 128GB of internal storage. The storage is expandable, though you can use a microSD card of up to 2TB here.
A 5,000mAh battery is also included, while the phone ships with Android 15. Sony promised four years of OS updates and six years of security patches for the Xperia 10 VII.
The phone does come with upgraded rear cameras compared to the Xperia 10 VI. It features a 50-megapixel main camera (Sony Exmor RS sensor, f/1.9 aperture, 1/1.56-inch sensor size, OIS) and a 13-megapixel ultrawide camera (f/2.4 aperture, 1/3.0-inch sensor size). A single 8-megapixel snapper sits on the front.
There are also front-firing stereo speakers here
It also has dual front-facing speakers, which is not something many phones can say for themselves. The Sony Xperia 10 VII comes in Charcoal, White, and Turquoise colors. The device is priced at €449 ($525).
