OPPO has collaborated with Hasselblad for more than four years for the imaging features of the Find X series of smartphones. The firm is once again closely working with the legendary camera maker for the upcoming Find X9 series. An OPPO executive recently confirmed that the brand is developing a camera kit for the Find X9 series in collaboration with Hasselblad. While the official hasn’t revealed many details about the product, a tipster has shared some information about the camera kit.
OPPO is working with Hasselblad to develop a custom camera kit
OPPO’s Find series Product Manager Zhou Yibao has posted on Weibo that the brand will launch a custom imaging kit for the Find X9 series in partnership with Hasselblad. Yibao’s post suggests that the brand is developing this camera kit specifically for the OPPO Find X9 Pro model. However, the company has also designed “imaging accessories” for the Find X9 standard version, a rare move in the flagship smartphone space.
The OPPO official was quoting a Weibo post by a tipster, who suggested that the OPPO x Hasselblad Imaging Kit will launch in October. It will have the industry’s first “magnetic photography grip” that’ll be much more convenient than snap-on designs.
Additionally, the tipster suggests that the camera accessory will have a “Hasselblad professional external teleconverter”, which will offer “excellent image quality and resolution”. Since the teleconverter lens also comes from Hasselblad, we can expect the quality to be good. It’s worth mentioning that the image of the camera kit shared by the tipster doesn’t represent the actual design of the official device, but it’s close, said Yibao in his Weibo post.
The Find X9 series will already impress with up to 200MP camera lenses
OPPO’s upcoming Find X9 series of phones, especially the Find X9 Ultra model, will impress photography enthusiasts. Reports indicate that the firm could equip the Ultra variant with up to four cameras, just like the predecessor, the Find X8 Ultra. It could boast a 200MP main camera, aided by a 50MP secondary ultrawide lens.
Additionally, the brand plans to offer a pair of Periscope telephoto lenses with the Find X9 Ultra: a 200MP lens and a 50MP lens. The Find X9 Ultra could arrive as the world’s first smartphone to feature two 200-megapixel cameras.
If we believe the rumors, OPPO will launch the Find X9 series of flagship phones at some point in early to mid-October 2025. The reports also indicate that the company will hold a global launch event by the end of October.
