Samsung has just detailed its September 2025 Android security patch. Google has started to roll out the update to the Pixel 10 series, without providing the info beforehand, but Samsung just did it.
Samsung is now rolling out the September 2025 Android update with a bunch of security fixes
Do note that Samsung’s version builds upon what Google is offering. So, thanks to this post, we do get some info about Google’s patch, too. Google brings fixes for two critical and dozens of high-risk vulnerabilities.
On top of those, which are also included in Samsung’s update, Samsung also added fixes for 25 Samsung Vulnerabilities and Exposures items. One such vulnerability allowed for improper access control in One UI Home on Android 14 and Android 15 devices.
Other fixes patch vulnerabilities related to improper handling of permissions, access control, out-of-bounds write, and others. We don’t know all the details, but what Samsung released is enough on its own.
It will roll out to a lot of devices
This update is now rolling out to devices. It will be rolling out to devices on the monthly, quarterly, and bi-annual update release timelines. A lot of devices are on that list, needless to say.
We’re presuming that the newest flagship phones will get the update first, including the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7, Galaxy Z Flip 7, and the entire Galaxy S25 series. No reports of either of them getting the actual update have surfaced thus far, but you can expect that to happen in the coming days.
This update will roll out in stages to all devices, as per usual. It will start in one region and then quickly spread to others. It usually starts in Korea, but that doesn’t have to be the case here. Either way, more info is coming soon.
