Galaxy Watch 7’s One UI 8 Beta 3 Fixes Major GPS & Charging Bugs

Samsung launched the Galaxy Watch 8 series this year. However, its predecessor, the Watch 7 lineup, remains a great option today. Samsung is currently running the One UI 8 Watch beta program for these devices. Now, the company is rolling out the One UI 8 Watch Beta 3 update for the Galaxy Watch 7. The OTA is packed with important fixes and improvements that owners have been waiting for.

One UI 8 Watch Beta 3 is currently available to users in South Korea. However, it will probably reach the United States and other markets soon. The latest firmware includes the August 2025 security patch and, more importantly, addresses some key bugs that have been causing frustration for users in the beta program.

Fixes included in One UI 8 Beta 3 for Samsung’s Galaxy Watch 7

One of the most notable fixes is for a tricky GPS issue. Beta participants reported a frustrating delay in location updates when they paused a workout, like a hike or run, and then resumed it. This update promises to resolve that problem, ensuring your workout tracking remains accurate and seamless. In addition, the hiking route feature has been specifically improved for better accuracy.

The beta also resolves a unique charging problem. Users noticed a strange issue where the watch’s screen would stay on indefinitely instead of going into standby when the charger was tilted vertically. This bug was causing unnecessary battery drain and frustration for many owners. Fortunately, the latest update provides a fix, ensuring the watch behaves as expected and retains its charge.

It’s noteworthy that the Galaxy Watch Ultra (review) has already received the stable version of One UI 8 Watch. These beta updates show that Samsung is working hard to ensure the final version is as stable and reliable as possible before its official public release for other models. Samsung will begin the stable rollout in September.
