The Huawei Pura 80 Ultra is the very best camera smartphone on the globe, according to DXOMARK. The phone managed to score 175 points in the company’s camera test, which puts it at the very top of the charts.
The Huawei Pura 80 Ultra is the best camera phone out there, says DXOMARK
OPPO’s Find X8 Ultra handset was sitting at the top with 169 points, but it has been dethroned. As a reminder, the Vivo X200 Ultra is third-placed, while the Huawei Pura 70 Ultra and Apple iPhone 16 Pro Max follow in fourth and fifth place.
It is worth noting that DXOMARK has not reviewed every flagship phone out there, of course. The company also has some controversial ranking placements, as many of you know.
With that being said, let’s focus on the Huawei Pura 80 Ultra here. DXOMARK ranks this phone as the very best in main camera pictures, for bokeh shots, and for telephoto images. It actually scored 180 points in the photo department and 166 in the video department, which is also outstanding.

The phone was also ranked as the best for portrait, outdoor, indoor, and low-light photos. It also did particularly great in the ‘Zoom’ department. DXOMARK did highlight some Pros and Cons, so let’s go over those.
Its dynamic range, exposure, color rendering… and other aspects were praised
The company praised the phone’s wide dynamic range and accurate exposure. DXOMARK also said that the device offers excellent color rendering in most situations. It also offers nice skin tones, even under challenging lighting.
The Huawei Pura 80 Ultra offers high levels of detail in photo and video footage, in most conditions. It has accurate autofocus and a wide depth of field when needed. The noise levels are low in photos, even in low light.
Its portrait mode is very good with high levels of detail and good subject isolation. The ultrawide camera is very wide and has good image quality in most conditions. The phone also has an effective dual-tele module, which is great for long-range shooting.
And finally, the Huawei Pura 80 Ultra offers very effective video stabilization on top of everything.
A couple of ‘Cons’ were mentioned too, though
DXOMARK did highlight some Cons too. Occasional slight exposure and color instabilities have been noticed. The same goes for slightly unnatural textures in very difficult light conditions. The last ‘Con’ mentioned is the fact that there are some artifacts present, including hue shift, ghosting, and scene integrity artifacts in video mode.
Our Huawei Pura 80 Ultra review is on the way, so stay tuned for that.
