Realme P3 Ultra review – GSMArena.com tests

Introduction

We did take our time coming up with this review, but the Realme P3 Ultra might as well be one of the most interesting midrange smartphone launches by Realme this year, not only because it offers superb performance at an affordable price, but also for its standout back design, which is a spectacle on its own.

And that’s where we’d like to start. Having the Glowing Lunar White version of the Realme P3 Ultra puts us in the unique position to review yet another unique Realme design, one that hasn’t been done until now. A picture says a thousand words, so here is one.

The White model is infused with glowing material, which illuminates the etched moon surface and its surroundings when exposed to sufficient light. If this effect is too much for you, there are also versions with vegan leather.

The Realme P3 Ultra packs a 6.83-inch AMOLED screen with 1,272p resolution, 10-bit color depth, and 120Hz refresh rate. It has Gorilla Glass 7i protection.

The Dimensity 8350 Ultra chipset is at the center of the P3 Ultra, giving it maximum performance on a budget. And the base version of the phone has 8GB RAM, which is nice.

The Realme P3 Ultra has a 50MP OIS camera with 4K30 video capturing plus an 8MP ultrawide secondary at the back, and a 16MP selfie cam on the other side. Even if the phone is focused on power and performance, it still aims to provide some properly good photos with its main camera.

Speaking of power, the Realme P3 Ultra has a 6,000mAh battery with support for 80W fast charging. Bypass charging is also available via the gaming tools.

The Realme P3 Ultra seems like a well-balanced smartphone with an all-around specs sheet for its price tag. It also represents a marketing experiment for Realme, which allegedly will be selling this phone only online and without any advertising, like back in the day when the brand was created. And just like back then, the P3 Ultra offers great value by combining great hardware with cutthroat pricing. Unfortunately, realme has limited the phone’s availability to just a few countries, and even there, it risks going unnoticed, overshadowed by its peers which get all the marketing budget.
