In 2024, Vivo announced its new flagship series of phones in the form of the Vivo X200. If you skipped last year’s model in anticipation of its successor, you’re in luck. According to a couple of official renders shared on X by Sudhanshu Ambhore, the design of the Vivo X300 and X300 Pro have been revealed.
Vivo X300, X300 Pro design revealed
For those who might have been hoping for a change in design, you’re going to be disappointed. Assuming that these are the official renders, it looks like Vivo hasn’t done much. The design of the Vivo X300 and X300 Pro look quite similar to its predecessor. The back does appear to be flatter, where in the X200, the edges of the back were slightly curved. However, apart from that, the massive camera hump remains.
The tipster also noted that the Vivo X300 Pro has an additional physical button. This button can be found on the left side of the phone’s frame. We’re not sure what the button is supposed to do, but tipster Abhishek Yadav speculates that it could be a multifunctional button. This might be similar to Apple’s Action Button, which users can customize to do different things.
What else can we expect?
The new Vivo Android phones haven’t officially been announced yet. However, a Vivo executive recently revealed that the X300 Pro scored over 4 million points on the AnTuTu benchmark. This is thanks to the use of MediaTek’s new Dimensity 9500 chipset. This also confirms that Vivo won’t be going with Qualcomm for its next-gen flagship phone.
We also heard that the Vivo X300 will feature a 6.31-inch 8T LTPO display. It comes with a built-in ultrasonic fingerprint sensor, a telephoto camera, and a faster USB port. As for the Vivo X300 Pro, the handset is expected to see an upgrade in storage. It will now feature dual UFS 4.1 storage. Vivo claims that this will improve read and write speeds by more than 70%. Whether or not that’s true remains to be seen. However, the upgraded storage should improve speeds when it comes to saving photos and videos taken by the phone.
Last but not least, the X300 Pro is also said to get a signal amplifier chip. This is expected to boost both WiFi and cellular connectivity.
