It seems like both Samsung’s first tri-fold smartphone and the company’s XR headset got delayed. Well, at least according to a report that surfaced in Korea. The info comes from ET News.
Samsung just delayed its first tri-fold and XR headset too
The company’s XR headset was rumored to launch on September 29 and become available on October 13. Well, the launch date got pushed back a bit. ET News reports that Samsung’s XR headset will launch on October 21.
It is stated that the device’s feature will be presented on that day, following by making it available. We’re still not sure when will it go on sale. This delay comes due to internal marketing strategy coordination and quality assurance, it is stated.
The device is rumored to cost KRV 2 million, which translates to $1,144. That would make it cheaper than the Apple Vision Pro, but more expensive than the Meta Quest 3. Do note that this is its price in Korea, though.
Both devices were expected to become official on September 29
What about the company’s first tri-fold? Well, that device was also tipped to launch during the September 29 event. That also won’t happen. It is not tipped to come at a later date. That will probably be towards the end of October, or in November.
Something else that was mentioned by the source are Samsung’s XR glasses. Those are developed in colab with Google, and they’re expected to arrive early next year. Possibly alongside the Galaxy S26 series? Who knows.
All in all, Samsung is preparing quite a few interesting products for us, though we’ll have to wait a bit longer to get them. It’s also worth noting that some of these may be exclusive to Korea and China, like the tri-fold. Samsung is not expected to launch it globally.
