Samsung started rolling out its Android 16-based One UI 8 update to the Galaxy S25 series a couple of days ago, while the rollout spread to markets out of Korea within the last 24 hours. Having that in mind, a huge surprise has just appeared, as One UI 8.5 update for the Galaxy S25 Ultra has been spotted on Samsung servers.
Samsung’s One UI 8.5 update for the Galaxy S25 Ultra has already appeared
Samsung is not losing any time, as it seems to be testing One UI 8.5 already. Just to be clear, the company has been testing the update for months now, but now we get to see the first actual firmware.
Now, while this may get some of you excited, manage your expectations. You just received One UI 8, or will receive it very soon, on your Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra. One UI 8.5 won’t exactly arrive all that soon.
It will, almost certainly, arrive with the Samsung Galaxy S26 series next year. The Galaxy S26 Pro, Galaxy S26 Edge, and Galaxy S26 Ultra are expected to arrive in January 2026. All three of them will likely ship with One UI 8.5 and be fthe irst to do it.
We don’t know what changes it will bring, though
At this point in time, we have no idea what will the update bring. Not a single change has leaked out at this point, so… our guess is as good as ours. We don’t expect it to be a major change, however. It will still be based on Android 16, of course.
One UI 8, on the other hand, did bring quite a few changes to the table. Not only did it improve multitasking, but it also delivered Now Brief and Knox Matrix. An AI boost has also been delivered, and more.
On top of all that, all the standard changes that Google made to Android 16 itself are included here too, as long as they’re not exclusive to Pixel phones, of course.
