Xiaomi is about to announce the Xiaomi 17 series later this month and it looks like the Xiaomi Pad 8 series will tag along. The company’s Lu Weibing teased the Pad 8 series with a poster revealing a familiar design, a detachable keyboard and a stylus.

The Weibo post from Lu Weibing reads that the Pad 8 will feature a classic 11.2-inch display, but will still be lightweight and portable. It will also feature a high-performance SoC and will ship with HyperOS 3 based on Android 16.
In earlier leaks, the Pad 8 surfaced with a Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset and 16 GB of RAM. This finding appears to be in line with the teaser, suggesting a high-performance chipset. In fact, it exceeds our expectations, given that last year’s model was based on a lower-tier Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 chip.
Even earlier rumors suggest that the main difference between the Pro and the standard model is going to be the charging rate. The Pro gets 67W, while the non-Pro settles for 45W, but in both cases, you will be getting a 10,000 mAh battery.
