Gmail recently rolled out a new “Manage Subscriptions” tool, which helps users easily manage their subscriptions and declutter their inboxes. It has now added a new Purchases tab, which provides users with a quick overview of their upcoming package deliveries. Gmail’s new Purchases tab offers information regarding all purchase-related emails in one place, even from past orders and deliveries.
Gmail’s new Purchases tab houses delivery updates, order receipts, and more
Google is rolling out a Gmail view that shows all your orders and delivery updates together in one place. It provides you with a bird’s eye view of all your upcoming packages in one simple, organized list. The firm says that Gmail’s entirely new Purchases tab lets you view all order-related emails and updates in one simple, streamlined interface.
Gmail will keep highlighting packages that will arrive at your doorstep within 24 hours at the top of your primary inbox. Also, it will continue to display the summary card within your purchase emails. But, you’ll also see updates on packages set to arrive further out.

Gmail’s new Purchases tab sounds a lot like Apple’s “transactions” mail category, which the company rolled out not too long ago. It sits on the left pane of your inbox alongside other tabs like starred, important, manage subscriptions, and scheduled.
Google has started rolling out the new order tracking tab right away for mobile and web users around the world with personal Google accounts. The tech titan believes that the new tab will prove to be quite useful during the upcoming holiday season.
Additionally, Gmail is also updating its Promotions category, which now enables users to sort such emails by “most relevant” and receive “nudges” about timely deals from their favorite brands. If you prefer to see Promotional category emails like they are today, you can simply select the option to sort them by “most recent” instead of “most relevant”.
Gmail will start rolling out changes to the Promotions category in the coming weeks on mobile to users with personal Google accounts.
