Nothing has already revealed that it’s unveiling the Ear (3) on September 18 as its next flagship pair of wireless earbuds. Today, the brand continues its teaser campaign by revealing the Ear (3)’s design, courtesy of the image you can see below.
The Ear (3) has a case with a transparent lid, a trademark Nothing design cue. Speaking of which, the earbuds’ stems have the very recognizable Nothing transparent look.
The pairing button is inside the case in the bottom right as you can see, and we’re definitely intrigued by the “TALK” button on the outside. Perhaps this will make the case work as a walkie-talkie with the earbuds? We can only speculate for now.
The case features 100% anodized recycled aluminum, and the metal is introduced “for greater durability and a premium finish”, according to the company. The earbuds are ultra-slim, thanks to Nothing having minimized the clearance between components, and also having reengineered the metal antenna to a flat finish and controlling its thickness to just 0.35mm, which is “the current industry limit” according to Nothing.
Nothing’s Design Director Adam Bates said:
With Ear (3), we’ve evolved our design language by focusing on the fundamentals: the engineering and the experience, resulting in an elevated product that looks and feels different, and functions in ways that are completely new to the industry. The approach to materials and processes, notably the use of anodized aluminum for the case structure and the earbud antenna, have enabled a product which is undoubtedly new, yet unmistakably Nothing.
