TECNO is making its way to Berlin later this week to show off its slim smartphone, which was first announced at MWC Barcelona back in March, and a new ultra-slim laptop. TECNO is calling this “The Thinnest Power Duo,” marketing both the slim phone and slim laptop together.
The TECNO Slim is the new name for the “TECNO Spark Slim” that was showcased in Barcelona earlier this year. This was a 5.75mm thick smartphone that was somehow able to pack a 5,200mAh capacity battery inside, while weighing just 146g. This phone will be on display again in Berlin later this week; however, there are still no details on when it will be available to purchase.
The TECNO MEGABOOK S14 weighs in at just 899g
Of course, smartphones aren’t the only products that are getting incredibly slim; so are laptops. TECNO will also showcase the MEGABOOK S14 next week, which is going to weigh in at just 899 grams. That is incredibly light for a laptop, as that puts it just below 2lbs. To put that in perspective, the same size LG Gram weighs 997g or about 2.2lbs.
TECNO is also not releasing a lot of details about this laptop just yet, but we do know that it will come in two flavors. Using the Snapdragon X Elite chip, and another using the Intel Core Ultra 9 chip. It’s likely that the Intel model will be a bit thicker, as it will need more space for cooling, versus the Snapdragon X Elite.
TECNO also notes that it will measure about 6mm thin, while also having a large-capacity battery. Right now, the HP Spectre 13 is the world’s thinnest laptop at 10.4mm. And the TECNO MEGABOOK S14 really blows that out of the water here, at almost 5mm thinner – almost half as thin.
Of course, TECNO will also be showing off the rest of its lineup at IFA later this week, including the TECNO MEGAPAD Pro, TECNO TRUE 2 AI TWS, TECNO Watch GT AI smartwatch, and more.
