Google Search’s AI Mode Expanding Globally with New Agentic Tools

Google initially launched the AI Mode in Google Search for the public in the US and India. In late July, the search titan rolled out the feature for users in the UK. Google is now expanding the availability of the AI Mode in Google Search to many more countries across the globe. Additionally, the company is introducing new agentic and personalized capabilities to this feature.

Google has announced that it is expanding the AI Mode to as many as 180 new countries in the English language. The search engine giant plans to bring the AI mode to more language users and countries soon.

Now you can use AI Mode to find restaurant reservations

Talking about Google Search’s AI Mode’s new agentic capabilities, there’s a new feature that allows users to find restaurant reservations. For example, users can now ask for a dinner reservation with their friends with multiple specific requirements. In the query, users can set preferences like party size, date, time, location, and preferred cuisine, and Google Search’s AI Mode will streamline this process.

In the end result, users will then find a curated list of restaurant options and available time slots. Furthermore, the AI Mode will directly link to the booking page so people can finalize their selection. Google is rolling out the restaurant bookings feature to Google AI Ultra subscribers in the US at the moment. Ultra is Google’s highest-end plan that costs $249.99 per month.

Once a user proceeds with a query, the AI Mode will use the live browsing capabilities of Project Mariner. It will also use direct partner integrations for searches and the power of Knowledge Graph and Google Maps to help users find actions on the web.

Google Search is working with partners like OpenTable, Resy, Tock, Ticketmaster, StubHub, SeatGeek, Booksy, and many more. In the future, the same agentic tool will expand to local service appointments and event tickets.

More personalized options and the ability to share asked queries

Furthermore, Google announced that it will now provide US users participating in the AI Mode experiment with search results tailored to their preferences and interests. The search titan is starting with dining-related queries with this new feature. For example, if a user searches, “I only have an hour, need a quick lunch spot, any suggestions?” AI Mode will use their past conversations, along with places they’ve searched for or tapped on in Search and Maps, to provide more relevant options.

Finally, Google Search’s AI Mode is getting a new “Share” button. After searching for a query and finding answers, you can share conversations with links. This feature will allow your friends and family members to jump into the AI Mode response right where you left off.

This is a handy feature if you are collaborating with people for something like planning a trip or a birthday party. For privacy, Google Search allows you to view the shared links and delete them at any time.
