Apple iPhones Dominate Q2 2025 Best-Selling Smartphones List

Despite Apple essentially making one type of phone, it manages to command a sizable chunk of the market. Don’t believe us? The data doesn’t lie. According to Counterpoint’s report on the best selling smartphones for Q2 2025, Apple’s iPhones basically took up five out of the ten spots on the list.

According to Counterpoint’s data, the iPhone 16, iPhone Pro Max, and iPhone 16 Pro were the top three best selling smartphones for Q2 2025. The iPhone 16e also made the cut. Despite many expressing their skepticism at the phone’s specs and its price, the iPhone 16e ranked in sixth place. Then the iPhone 15, a phone from 2 years ago, rounded out the list in tenth place.

That being said, Apple isn’t alone on this list. Samsung’s phones occupied four out of the ten spots. In fourth and fifth place are the Samsung Galaxy A16 5G and A06 4G. These are actually Samsung’s entry-level phones. The company’s flagship, the Galaxy S25 Ultra, came in eighth place, and the Galaxy 16 4G in seventh place. Xiaomi also earned a spot on that list with the Redmi 14C 4G in ninth place.

However, it’s basically the Apple show here. The most impressive phone on the list is the iPhone 16e. In Q1 2025, it ranked 22nd, but it shot to sixth place in a relatively short amount of time. According to Counterpoint, it credits strong sales in Japan and the US as the reason why.

What will Q3 look like?

For Q2, it is clear that Apple is in the lead. However, we have to wonder if the company will be able to hold its positions. Apple recently announced its new iPhone 17 series and the iPhone Air. So far, reports are suggesting that demand for the new phones are pretty strong. Shipping dates are already slipping into October, suggesting that many are excited about Apple’s new flagships.

Will the demand be strong enough for Apple to continue dominating the charts in Q3? More importantly, how will the new iPhone Air fare? Once again, many are calling out Apple on the iPhone Air. Its price and specs hardly position it as being good value for money. But maybe customers are bored of the current iPhone design and something new and drastic could be the catalyst to get people excited again.
