Based on a new report from one of the best-known tipsters out there, Samsung is getting a second color tuning option, but there’s a catch. Not only is there a catch, but it’s kind of an important one that has the potential to annoy quite a few people.
Samsung is getting a second color tuning option aka a new photo style… with a catch
The info comes from Ice Universe and says that in the next version of One UI 8, Samsung will introduce two “Chinese-style” photo watermarks. Samsung will, however, tie the ‘Vivid’ style to the watermark itself.
Yes, you read that right. If you’d like to use the ‘Vivid’, to get more vivid images, you’ll get the watermark as part of the package. Needless to say, this is quite the annoyance, and an unnecessary one.
We do hope that things will change moving forward. Perhaps that’s how things work at the moment, while Samsung is testing the feature out, and it will change in the final build.
A tipster tested this photo style on the Galaxy S25 Ultra
We do know that it’s how it works now, as Ice Universe actually got to use the feature on the Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra. He also shared some camera samples below, to show more vivid images that are tied to the watermark.
He doesn’t seem to be bothered by the fact this photo style is tied to the watermark, for some reason. Either way, it would be nice to have that option without the watermark, as a number of other companies do things.
Vivo is the first company that comes to mind, as it has a well-known ‘Vivid’ photo style, in addition to the ‘ZEISS’ photo style. Both of them are great, it all depends on what you prefer, of course.
We’re expecting to see Samsung offer this feature on a number of phones, but based on what the tipster said, the Galaxy S25 series and Galaxy Z Fold 7 are for sure getting it in the next version of One UI 8.
