Tipster Drops Pixel 10 Pro Fold Release Date — Qi2 Support Included

A well-known tipster, Evan Blass aka evleaks, has just confirmed more information about Google’s upcoming foldable. The Google Pixel 10 Pro Fold will be Qi2-compliant, while its release date has also been tipped.

It was reported earlier that while Google will announce six products at its August 20 event, only three will become available in August. On August 28, to be exact. Those products are the Pixel 10, Pixel 10 Pro, and Pixel 10 Pro XL.

The Google Pixel 10 Pro Fold will be Qi2-compliant and become available on October 9

The other three products, the Pixel 10 Pro Fold, Pixel Watch 4, and Pixel Buds 2a, will be released in October. Evan Blass just confirmed that October 9 is the release date users will be waiting for.

Now, we know that the Google Pixel 10, Pixel 10 Pro, and Pixel 10 Pro XL will come with built-in magnets for Qi2 charging. It seems like the same will be the case with the Pixel 10 Pro Fold, but we’re still not sure.

With this move, Google is basically coming on the same playing field as Apple. The company could end up offering faster wireless charging for some of its phones, though, it remains to be seen.

We’re still not sure how fast its wireless charging will be, or will it come with magnets

We’re not sure how fast the Pixel 10 Pro Fold’s wireless charging will be, but if we had to guess, we’d say that Google will utilize 15W wireless charging. Pixel phones will be compatible with a number of magnetic accessories thanks to this move, hopefully including the Pixel 10 Pro Fold.

Google will be referring to this charging tech as Pixelsnap, based on what we’ve seen thus far. Some Pixelsnap cases actually leaked quite recently, though not the ones for the Pixel 10 Pro Fold.

The Google Pixel 10 Pro Fold’s design was shown by the company in a recent teaser video, in case you’re interested.
