The upcoming Snapdragon 8 Elite 2 processor has just been spotted inside the Samsung Galaxy S26 Edge. So both this chip and the phone have not been announced at this point in time.
The Samsung Galaxy S26 Edge has been spotted running the Snapdragon 8 Elite 2 chip
The Galaxy S26 Edge was spotted on Geekbench, though its name was not exactly mentioned. The phone appeared under the SM-S947U model number. The Snapdragon 8 Elite 2 is included on the inside, and thanks to this listing, we get to see its benchmarking performance.
The phone managed to score 3,393 points in the single-core, and 11,515 points in the multi-core test on Geekbench. Do note that this is a pre-production unit, though. Still, these are some extremely powerful results. These results trumped even what the iPhone 16 Pro Max was able to hit.

In addition to the Snapdragon 8 Elite 2, the Galaxy S26 Edge also features 12GB of RAM and Android 16 (with One UI 8.0), at least this model does. Its Snapdragon 8 Elite 2 chip come with two prime cores capable of running at 4.74Hz, and six performance cores that can run at 3.63GHz. The Adrenos 840 GPU is also included.
The real comparison will be between the Snapdragon 8 Elite 2 and Apple A19 Pro processors, of course. Those are expected to become some of the most powerful mobile chips out there.
The Galaxy S26 Edge will likely launch sooner than you think
In regards to the Galaxy S26 Edge, the phone is rumored to include a 6.7-inch 120Hz OLED display, along with a 4,200mAh battery. 45W wired charging will be on offer, while the phone will also include 12GB of RAM.
Reports are saying that a 200-megapixel main camera will be included, along with a 50-megapixel ultrawide camera. The device will likely arrive in 256GB and 512GB storage flavors.
This phone is not expected to arrive anytime soon, though. The Galaxy S25 Edge was announced in May this year, and its successor will either follow suit next year, or arrive alongside the Galaxy S26 and Galaxy S26 Ultra early next year. It is expected to replace the Galaxy S26+, which is why.
